Important information for applying to AKK Cultural Academy.
Please check eligibility, fees, and scholarship programs.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:

  • Completed 12 years of regular education in your home country (high school equivalent).
  • At least 150 hours of Japanese language study at a Japanese language institution.
  • JLPT N5 or higher, J-TEST F level or higher, NAT-TEST Level 5 or higher, or equivalent Japanese proficiency. (*Certificate required)
  • Able to comply with Japanese laws and school regulations.
  • In good physical and mental health with high motivation to learn.
  • Financial guarantee to cover tuition and living expenses during enrollment.

* Dormitory fees are monthly charges per person. All residents must pay the above amount regardless of the number of people sharing the same room.
* The deposit will be fully refunded upon move-out if there is no damage or unpaid fees, and the room is properly cleaned.

Post-Enrollment Expenses (Annual Estimate)

  • National Health Insurance: According to municipal regulations (enrollment required)
  • Student Disaster Insurance: Approx. 10,000 yen (enrolled through our school)
  • Health Checkup: Approx. 7,000 yen
  • Commuting transportation costs (if applicable)
  • Other personal expenses (food, phone, etc.)

* Our school is a member of the "Nationwide Japanese Language Education Institution Mutual Aid Cooperative" approved by the Ministry of Education, which provides disaster compensation for international students.

AKK Scholarship Program

SCHOLARSHIP

Our academy offers original scholarship programs to support students with excellent academic performance and attendance.

Payment & Refund Policy

About School Fee Payment

  • Once you receive your Certificate of Eligibility (COE), please pay the full "Pre-Enrollment Fees" in one lump sum by the deadline specified by our school.
  • If payment is not confirmed by the specified deadline, your admission may be revoked.
  • After enrollment, tuition fees (tuition, facility fees, materials) are to be paid every six months in principle. Detailed schedules will be announced separately.
  • If tuition payment is delayed, you may be expelled after receiving a reminder.

About Fee Refunds

  • If you cannot enroll due to visa denial:
    The full amount paid will be refunded minus the screening fee (30,000 yen). (*A visa denial certificate issued by the Japanese consulate is required.)
  • If you withdraw after receiving your COE or visa:
    In principle, fees already paid are non-refundable. However, if you withdraw before enrollment for unavoidable reasons and the school approves, tuition fees may be refunded minus the screening fee (30,000 yen) and admission fee (50,000 yen).
  • Withdrawal or expulsion after enrollment:
    Regardless of the reason, fees already paid will not be refunded.

Certificate of Eligibility (COE) Dispatch

After confirming payment of pre-enrollment fees, we will promptly mail the acceptance letter and the original COE documents to you.
